September 14

Well this week was surely nothing to special!! we worked our butts off like
always but miracles are so normal now that i dont know which one to write
you guys!! haha but family just know i have a testimony of the lord and
savior jesus christ and i know god lives.  With all my heart i will glorify
him and that is was i am doing!!

We made invitations this week so people will start coming to church.. we
ahve been struggling with that, but now since we have been trying supe hard
for that to work god blessed us! we had a less active member come, with her
daughter that isnt baptized, her grandaughter that isnt baptized and
another girl that is aless active.  They came up to us and asked if we
could baptize them! it was a miracle and an answer to our prayers.  im
super happy for that! we also had 3 other investigators in church and now,
we will start baptizing all of them in these weeks!! im super happy and
super glad to be a worthless tool in the hands of god! i know he blesses me
and i know he is using me now!! i love the zone im working with.

We are worried about the zone because they are scared.  They dont have
courage and are very timid! we called a speciall zone meeting for this
night.  We are going to talk about how to be missionaries who testify with
out fear and challenge and how to teach effectivily so we start baptizing
as a zone!! im super pumped, planning i felt the spirit testify that the
lord is pleased with this decision and we are super pumped to transmit our
excitement to the zone! please pray that we will be able to get rowdy wiht
them and they will leave edified from the meeting!

I love yo guys with all my heart!! keep up the work of salvation!! i am
trying!!

Holy moly we don’t have guacamole!

Whats up family?

Things are super good! haha I’m super happy and we are busy! so things are super good! we had the opportunity to have a 70 of area come to our mission this week and it was super rad! So we had Elder Texeira come.. no dad its not Mr. Texeira from the yanks.. hah I was just as depressed as you are now! haha But he came and we learned a ton.  Usually in our mission the reason we are successful here is because we are teaching a whole lot.  He made that known to us and showed us how we could teach more and that it is more productive if we teach rather than just baptize.

We I’ve been doing I promise! we teach.. but I guess my teaching skills weren’t where they needed to be! So I was super happy to learn that! In the mission we were teaching like 5 to 7 lessons a week! after that we went and taught 10 lessons in 3 days, and set 6 baptism dates! really inspired me to become a whole lot better! Like Helaman says in chap 16 if it happened in a land far away, or in a time far away why cant it happen now? so what we did is worked hard! we are going to baptize thousands like Ammon did!! Im super excited! A little bit of what I learned is that I need to love a little bit more to the people! I need to show that really I am here to help them! SO that is my goal this week! Is learn how to love more because we need to become like christ if we want to do what he did! That is simple right?? haha

We had some cool things happen to us! we actually were walking and my comp and I decided that we are going to talk to everyone in the street, so we did.  We saw a lady and her kid, outside of their house.  We cant enter house of women alone so we stayed outside her house.  We talked to her and she told us that she had been thinking about getting baptized that morning but has some problems to fix.  ONE of them is smoking.  So the first lesson we taught was the word of wisdom them we asked her if we could do a prayer, and we did a prayer, and then taught faith, repentance, baptism by water and by fire, yea, even the holy ghost! She accepted to be baptized and loved everything we told her! She is using the book of Mormon to stop the need of smoking! She is super prepared!! Imagine my week if that is one of the 6 people that we found! things are great!

love you guys!! keep it smooth back at home!!

love you elder Wessel

Just another week

Baptism of Cirilo Pereyra
Hola family,

Whats happenin?  things are super radical here and I'm enjoying the heck out of the mission.

Seriously, im sorry I suck at using time on the computer now.  I never have time! haha  But I love you homies!
Just chillin in my area

This week was crazy.  The baptism of Cirilo is the first baptism in this ward since 1 year ago and a little more.  People were so happy. I didn’t take a picture but he whole ward showed up! they were hugging and crying and loving and everyone brought food and everything! it was incredible! i was so impressed. Huge change from villa la angostura! haha but seriously, I’ve never seen someone so happy in my entire life.  HE went and bought a suit and wore his suit to the baptism, then he got baptized.  He got redressed and then came back in to the sacrament room and just smiled. the smile never left his face! it was incredible how happy he was.  He said I know my wife is happy with the decision
I have made, my mom too.  Now I will be an example for my children and my grandchildren.  He is incredible family. Seriously to see his face made me feel a joy that I have never felt before! I'm so happy for this gospel.  SERIOUSLY!! GO PREACH TO EVERYONE!!!!

This is my work and my glory. To bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man!! FAAA I love it! Im participating in that every day!!! hahah I just want to scream and shout that is how happy I am in the work!! I want to tell every one that!!!

We had to do a ton of exchanges this week with missionaries to help them so they could baptize this week! we found a ton of investigators.  But the fruits were only 2 baptism this week.  At least God blessed us to be the example so the zone gets pumped!! we have set some crazy goals! GO BIG OR GO HOME!! God blessed Ammon and Amuleck, and Alma and Aaron with thousands of people to baptize.  Why wouldn’t he do it now??? haha Heck ya its incredible this work of the Lord!" I hope you guys understand, that God loves his children!! I will boast of that to everyone! God exists and will bless his children according to their desires!!  We will see fruits!!

love you family!! Keep it real and help the Lord in his work!!
I mustache you a question

A seventy of South America is coming this week!! its going to be cool! he has asked to interview us(my companion and I)! we will see how that goes!!

Hola Family,
So things are super good right now! we are super happy and yes... I’ve been transferred to barliloche.. ;) wahoooooo
Ive been called as a zone leader to watch over my old area of Lago Peblo as well so i will be able to return and visit all the people I met down there!"! I’m super happy! I’m super pumped and super humbled to have the opportunity.
The transfer was not expected.. I was thinking that my comp was going to leave because he has been there for a lot time.. but the presidente had a different vision! so we are going hard to work now!! I’ve got a Chilean as a comp now! His name is Elder Castillo! Castillo means cattle! haha we will be working hard to help the Bariloche Zone!!  (Bady-loche) that is was it sounds like.  so say it like that!! haha but we are super pumped to be working together.
Um.. there is not much to write this week... my last week in villa we had a great time.  we worked hard and got them a lot of investigators and got villa super prepared.  We found two families that are now preparing to get baptized and so I was kind of super upset that I had to leave.  that is my goal in the mission is to baptize a family!! to help a family take the first step to eternal life!!

But other than that... Im in bariloche.. happy. ready to work!! love you guys!!!

its not the sound of music but its close
So this week was a little bit loco.  We went up to a huge ski resort and had a blast!! We rode the ski lift and then we sledded up on top.. We aren't aloud to ski or snowboard... we went with a member that is super cool. And he talks English! We are going to come back and start a restaurant when I finish my mission... jaja

But Tuesday was a hard and so was Wednesday!! We are teaching but things are progressing.  We are working super hard and its frustrating because we aren't seeing results... This week again we invited everyone we saw to church.  We made invitations with our address and everything and stopped every person on the street.  We have been sharing the restoration with everyone.. I've never said the first vision so much! It's awesome... I'm loving the missino right now. I'm testifying and challenging people to come unto Christ.. But they wont do it..

Thursday we were in San Martin.. We traveled two hours to our zone conference with president and there I had a confirmation that Jesus is the Christ. They asked me how I baptize, and was able to share my testimony of the living God and his living son.  I noticed as I shared my testimony the spirit bore witness to me as well! It was a great and relaxing feeling.

We then worked super hard and put everything we had Friday and Saturday.. But I still feel like we could have done more! But it we are trying.  God is trying us a lot right now and we need to prevail.  This week we have ahead of us will be the week!! We are going to find the people!

I don't really have much to say.. I'm sorry! I know god lives. I know his son is Jesus Christ.  They have bodies.  I know the book of Mormon is true, and I know with a complete certainty that JOSEPH SMITH was and is and forever will be the prophet of this dispensation.

providing service, look out Caroline
Love you people!

"Do you want to build a Snow Man"
soooo....

We were put to trail. hah we were trailed this week.  I don't know how to say that.  But man... it was a very good but very hard week.

So what happened this week was a lot of hard work.  A lot of sweat, tears, frustration, happiness, and.... yeah.. haha

Lots of snow
So I don't really remember.  But we did a bunch of searching. We had to find and find and find.  We found a ton of people and had some great experiences.  We found 10 people that excepted to be baptized the 8 of august.. But only 1 person came to church.. hah but we met this one guy named MARIANO! He is a gansta! We were walking in the street.. And we were talking.. Honestly about girls and how you should lock your heart! There is a talk by elder Packard.. ahah and we said hello to this one man, middle of the conversation and I extended my hand.. He heard my talking and new I was from the United States because of my GRINGO accent! ahaha but I just told him we are missionaries and messengers of Jesus Christ, and we have a message for you. Can we share it with you.. We were right by his house and he then said, come in and let's talk. :) notice, this doesn't happen a lot. So we went in, and he expressed his concern with the search he is doing and doesn't feel comfortable with the church he was attending and we taught him the restoration.  HE loved it.  Said he felt like something was telling him it's true! So we used that testifying spirit and invited him to be baptized!! He accepted! Now we are waiting for his gf to get home so they can get married!!

My faith is being tried, and I'm working hard.. I had a story I want to share with you guys this week.

A guy had a pearl. He hid this pearl because it's precious and worth a lot.  He had one of the only ones in the world.  Then he had visitors that told him he should share it. HE presented the pearl in a wood box that was very finally detailed and very beautiful made by a very well known carpenter.  He displayed it and the people only admired the box, and not the priceless peal that occupied it.  My message is to think more in the kingdom of God!  look for the gospel which is the pearl and leave the things of the world which is the beautiful box! Love god and cherish the pearl that we have!!

my new snow boots
I love you guys!!

Good morning Family,

Well this week was a blast and a bunch of work!!
I really don't know how to start out this week...

We just started out with a normal p day! We didn't really do much because it was pouring rain!! So we just played ping pong in the chapel and just chilled, literally. We ate ice cream!! haha its the best ice cream in the world!! You gotta trust me!! But then we had a good Tuesday.  We didn't have a district meeting because we would be leaving to Bariloche for the weekend to meet the president. So we just worked and we did some service for some menos actives in the branch.  They didn't have lights, so my small knowledge and my comp being an electisista we work on the lights and put lights and plugs all over the house!! Tell Robert Lord this... he will be proud he taught me a little bit.  He may not think I listened when he talked but I did. ;)

Wednesday we finished the lights and talked with Julian and then also with his sister Lorena!! We talked the importance of recognizing the trails of our faiths and temptations.  This was something hard for them to understand.  So we talked about that and they accepted dates to be baptized the first of agosto!!!! wahoo!! PS.. We will expect a baptism this week!! Pray that we will see a miracle!!! :)

Thursday, we straight up traveled to bariloche!! Seriously I'm so lucky to be a witness of Gods greatest creations.. THE ANDES MOUNTAINS!! Its so awesome and the lakes it unimaginable!! I'm so blessed!!  But we got there for a solid Zone Training.  We did combined zone training with bariloche.  That is why we went. I'm part of the zone San Martin.

This Thursday afternoon had changed my life... IN Ether, Moroni talks about how things were so great and the words were spoken so powerfully that they could not be written, this is what had happened.  I have never felt the spirit like I did feel it there.  We talked about the talk "Faith in the lord Jesus Christ" By Gene R. Cook.  I want you guys to look it up. It is on the website byuspeeches.org in this talk it talks about six steps of faith that we need to see the miracles and the blessings of god. We started with a story about a missionary that committed himself to baptize 25 people in 25 days!! And he baptized 18 but the week after he baptized 11.  We were filling the spirit.  In our two zones we put the goal to help 136 people receive the remission of their sins by the 8 of Agosto.  Here in villa la angostura my comp and I put the goal to help 20 people receive the remission of their sins by that same day.  I have faith because I know it can be done.  I KNOW JESUS LIVES.  He resurrected, he lives, and so does all the miracles he can perform.

A little bit of background, I have been studying this talk for almost the whole length of my mission.  It is about a missionary who changed his whole mission solo by faith.  He was an example to me in my mission and I have been following this talk since my time in Lago Puelo! And it has changed my mission and it is the reason because I started believing in the Lord Jesus Christ! And why I started baptizing.  And now I had the privilege to meet this missionary. He is from Uruguay.  HE is my President.  I have never been so dumb founded in my life.   It was the coolest thing to know!! And now he lets us drink coke as well. :)

One of the steps is to expect God to act after the trail of our faith and doing our part.  For that my message is that Im going to do my part.  I have been trying my best to make this time worth while, but now, I know exactly what I need to do.  I should expect god to try my faith.  I shall not give up; I shall not let down my faith. I shall gird up my loins and go to battle every day! And with that I know God will bless me.  I will persevere through the trails that come my way.  Just like I have done before. I shall deflect the fiery darts that satans throws at us! We will glorify God on the 8 of Agosto and nothing will stop that.  Joseph Smith the prophet of the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ said, ¨No man can stop the work of the Lord.¨ we will glorify him and he will be triumphant.

Thank you so much family for all of your support! I love you guys with all my heart and I hope you guys know that!!!

So this week was pretty solid!! haha I don't really have much to write! It was still a miracle but it wasn't anything out of the ordinary.(note from Kacey..Miracles are ordinary now...got to love being in the Lords service!)

It was just a good simple week of hard work and getting things all set up for Saturday!! Well remember how I was telling you guys about Lucas,, HE GOT BAPTIZED!!  It was legit!

So Saturday we have to wake up early to come set up the font, because it is a small swimming pool!... which has a hole in it.. haha but we come set that up, then it takes all day to fill up so we have to wait there while it fills up!! And then the zone leaders who live 2 hours away showed up to interview him! He was super ready and will be the only youth of 16 years in the branch here! He already has a huge responsibility with the sacrament!
Lucas baptism

Then the hour of his baptism, the championship game of the American cup between Argentina, and Chile was on.  So no body showed up to the baptism... We were calling everyone telling them to come, and everyone said no! They went into overtime, so it was even worse!!  Lucky, we had some humble, Christ like, people show up a little bit late, and the attendance was 10 people. A huge change from last week! But it was one of the best baptisms I've attended!! The spirit was so strong and Lucas loved it!! I'm so happy I could be apart of it!! Then on Sunday we confirmed him and had a great day!!

Yesterday, it began to snow on us!! It was so cool! haha we have been having some crappy rainy weather lately!! haha remember the week in lago puelo, well this just got worse!! haha But I'm loving it!! The mission is great and I'm just having the best time of my life!! I'm trying to be the most obedient that I can and learning to just put all my trust in the lord!! So far, he has blessed me for trying!!

Meet the Mormons quote ¨I may not be perfect, but I'm perfect at trying.¨  CAPOOO!!!!

Well I've been studying a lot of Joseph smith, and really I just want to be like him!! I want to share my testimony that he was a true prophet and he translated the book of Mormon! I know with out a doubt that, this is true!! I hope this week you all can strengthen your testimony on Joseph Smith! It is what we will need to testify at the last days!!

Love you guys!!!!

Hellllooo family,

Sharon ready for her baptism
So it's weird to speak in English!! haha I really miss it! Being with a Latino comp I really miss ENGLISH!! hahaha

But this week was crazy! I don't have much time but i will share the story.  We wanted to baptize someone this weekend. So we focused and looked for someone that had assitences in the church.  We found a little girl named Sharon and her mom and all her family are members.  Except her.  SO we told the ward in ward council we told them to set up the baptism because we are going to baptize someone! The counselor of the branch was excited for the faith, but the president got mad! We sent the date and Sharon accepted.
The font

We got everything set up.  Sooo, the president called us very mad!! it was just Satan not wanting the miracles to happen here.  Then the wife of the president of the branch went over the house of the sisters and told them that no one was going to come to the baptism.  They dropped in the excitement and their animo.  It sucked super bad.  The sisters told me no we will have to wait for the 4 of July.  But I told them no.  My companion and I get the faith and we told them no.  We kept them strong and the president told us he would not come because he had other things to do and we didn't advise him with enough time. The little girl asked that he baptize her.  So we spent all Friday fixing things and praying that he would come.  After fasting and praying the president didn't want the baptism to happen.  We called our mission president and he told us," No man can stop the work of the lord". Joseph Smith. haha it was so cool. Then he told us, DO THE BAPTISM. So we went through with it. And that Saturday in the tardy, the president humbled himself and he came to the baptism.  And actually more people came to that baptism than the regular attendance in the church.  It was the best!!!!!!!! There are some pictures! It was great!! And now we have another investigator Lucas of 16 years old and he will be baptized on the 4 of July!! Please pray for him so his mom will let him.  And he will be the first youth in the branch.  The only young kid above 12 yrs old and under 18!!! It will be sweet!!!

They love their ping pong almost as much as soccer
Love you all!!

My new companion Elder Marzo
SOOOO this week was a week of getting to know all 18 members of the small branch of Villa La Angostura! It was great! we met a ton of menos activos!  This place is just pure tourism.  FOr the contacting in the morning, i have tried this new system where i don't knock doors anymore.  We only talk to people that are outside because they don't have a door to slam in our face!! haha and almost everyone is form out of the city! It is been cool tho!!  IN fact in much of this week! The world championship of outdoor motocross came to villa la angostura and RYAN VILLOPOTO won.  Everyone says i look like him and they love to talk to me about it!! Its actually pretty super cool! too bad i didn't get here when they raced!!

So we worked some fanny off this week and found an investigator named FANNY! haha she is awesome! Super catholic but believes in everything we tell her! so its pretty dope! haha She has a baptism date for the 18 of july! she didn't come to church but we will work with her this week! its good to get to know here! i shared my life story with her.. and we became good friends!! So we will see what happens!!! :)
our church

Next we have another lucas! I am going to name by boy lucas!! practicamente all of my investigators have something to do with lucas!! haha He has a baptism date that we put for the  11 of july! so i am super happy for him.  He came to church and was super excited! if we baptize him.. he will be the only youth in the branch! so it will be crazy! but he was super pumped about that priesthood and how he could have a responsibility!! so it was a great sunday yesterday when he came to church!!
Villa La Angostura

Other than that... the area was dead when i got here.. so we have been working on the revive.. I am starting to think my mission with President lovell is sending me on revival missions! all my other areas have been dead when i get there! haha its weird.. but i'm loving the mission and love witnessing the miracles that god blesses me with!! its seriously just such testimony builder that i WILL NEVER FORGET!!

i love you all so much.  i am doing the best i can!! Keep praying for the FAMILY!!! we need to be stronger as a family!!!

Love elder Wessel
