September,1, 2014 Chapter 12: Battle with the J dubs‏

Our Assitant to the pres.  HE is going home this transfer.
AAALLLOOOOHHHHHHAAAA family!

This week was one of the better weeks of the journey down here in ugly Cultral CO! haha The lord really helped us out this week.  I really swear I’m working my hardest.  God saw it this week and felt that is was time to bless us with some great smiles!! I love God! :)

So, Monday:
P DAY. pocha bailed on us, and we walked a year and half around town... hahah
Tuesday:
We had the president come and visit us and we had our zone conference.  I will send a picture of our zone when Hma Lovell sends us the pictures in a week or so.  We started at 8 in the morning and sat in the church and felt the spirit and learned until 4 o clock in the afternoon. After those spiritual eons in the capilla, we took Elder Addcock out.  He is an elder from a different district which is 3 hours away.  His comp just got sent home because he got possessed by the devil.  He started prophesying that he was going to be the last prophet of this dispensation.  That would be cool tho, because I could say he was in my mission.  But it’s not.  We also met this guy who was bumping so linkin Park.  It was part of their new album.  Which I didn’t know they had.  IT was soooo sweet! Why isn’t anybody keeping me up on the good music lately?? haha we talked to him and taught him for a little and set a meeting for later in the week.  Just to skip forward he never answered later.... then we taught this less active, and she already went to the temple but she just works too much.  So we taught about revelation through pray and the spirit was super strong. We ended the night at the terminal where we sent off our homie from Rincon!
Then a slide with no slide.. haha whaooo!!!

Wednesday:
Argentina became home for me finally.  I finally realized that Ii am probably not coming back to the United States anytime soon... haha it finally settled in and I started baring down and loving it more!  I was on exchanges with Elder Cardenas from Ecuador.  He is from where Colton Hill is serving.  He is 24 and I barely understood him.. But by the end of the day we were able to talk and hold conversation.  We taught Juana but she didn’t really like that she had to be baptized again after she had been baptized in the evangelico church.  So next time we will teach her the authority.  We also found out, that poor little Milagros, that is 13 years old, ruined her life.  She got pregnant. That is so sad.. Hopefully she will turn to God now... We will continue to visit her, and pray. I hope you guys can do the same..
Thursday:
Today, we met with this guy named Hernan.  He is a menos activo.  He called us over because he was breaking the law of chastity with his girlfriend and he is sick of feeling nasty. Exact translation from Spanish to English. He spilled the beans on every sin he has committed and really wants to change.  He ended up not coming to church, but he will this next week. Pray from him and he can have strength.  He broke up with his girl to become better!! his girlfriend might get baptized but she lives in a different area!!!
Friday:
Today, we had a tsunami for the other elders in our district.  We spent the 2 hours searching.  I was with the chileano and he is dope.  We found 2 new investigators and they were way interested. We then went back to our area, and found a miracle.... WAHOOOO we went searching for a reference and she didn’t answer.. I asked her vascino... I don’t know the word in English.. I forgot.. The person that lives right next to them.  So, she just barged right in their house and pulled out our investigator by the arm.  We then talked to her and she told us that she has a niece in the hospital that is premature.  So we said we have the perfect message that can help you throw this time in your life.  She let us in, and we taught the plan of salvation very simple.  We didn’t ask to be baptized but we set up a return appointment for Saturday.
Saturday:
We talked with Juana about the authority of god to baptize.  The spirit guided that lesson and we spoke with the spirit and love.  She understood the apostasy and understood the importance of the Authority.  She accepted a baptism date for the 5 de octubre.  Please pray for her! She is ssoooooo awesome!!!  After that, all other appointments fell through that day so we went to the Ward party and hung out with some members. Then called it a night.
Sunday:
We walk a fool.  We woke up and studied and I studied the scriptures that joseph smith wrote in liberty jail.  D&C 121 through 123.  if you haven’t read it.  PLEASE READ IT. ESPECIALLY MY FAMILY. SARAH; CARO, MOM, ANNA.  It will help so much.  You too boys in the family.  It will touch your heart.  I then asked for a testimony of Joseph Smith and Then received a Warm answer and testimony of him in my heart.  God answers prayers even if it is simple.  Then we had church, and had the executive meeting where we are the ward mission leaders of our ward.  So that was cool.  Estela answered but her son was playing in his band in the back so the spirit couldn’t really dwell there so we set up a meeting for the next week.  Hopefully today later tonight!!

A messin around pic.
This week was awesome.  I still have a testimony.  I got to write the pres. right now... so I got to go!!!

If I could lasso the moon in, I would and give it to you guys. I love ya!! This church is true.  Alway will be.  Maybe ill take a nap today.... ahha

August,23,2014 "Chapter 10: Kicked in the shins‏ "

Space monkey, that funky monkey! i love the grafiti here!!!

I wasn´t really kicked in the shins this week, but it sounded like a good title this week.  This week was a week of learning from the lord, by spiritual experiences, and finding some really good people!!!
This week I was going to go hard and just write straight out the journal entries that happen nightly, but unfortunately, I have a mind of 19 year old missionary, and seem to be very forgetful.  I find myself switching up lyrics to worldly songs and making them missionary appropriate and somehow remember lyrics to those songs, rather than remember to bring my journal and tell me family how my week was.
This week I want to start with yesterday because that was my favorite day.  IT was most spiritual and very good for my benefit as a missionary.
     Sunday: (yesterday)
Today, we had church.  But before church i plead to the lord to help me shrink my pride and become more humble.  After i prayed, i found a talk called {Beware of Pride by- Ezra Benson} just a quick right of the bat answer. I studied it before church for personal study.  For a quick explanation, I feel like i find myself judging or thinking more of myself or easily bugged with people or my comp.  I heard a saying in the MTC that if I want someone or something to change, something in me has to change first.  So that is why I was studying it.
Later in priesthood, we had an ex missionary that now has 4 kids teach us.  There was no Men from the ward there because of the rain. People don’t travel if there is rain.  So he decided to talk to us about humility in the mission field. Who would have thought?  God is just throwing answers to my prayers in my face.  Later I talked to this kid in the ward that had the same problem as me before my mission.  I did not have a strong testimony.  I did not know why I was going on a mission.  Really the thought was dumb.  But he said he didn’t have a strong testimony of the book of Mormon. HE didn’t know enough to be a missionary.  But I told him my story.  I told him, I did not finish the book of Mormon until I got a week in the MTC.  But I knew in my heart that Joseph Smith was a true Prophet.  I saw the hope in his eyes.  He knew that He was a prophet as well.  He said if that is all i need i will go. I told him it needs to be more than that, but that is the best place to start.
Then I had a meeting and people got me real frustrated, this is another answer to my humility pray.  People don’t really have a lot of respect for me because i don’t speak perfect but i try.  Sometimes I don’t understand either.  But i got easily offended.  I realized my weaknesses this day.  I was so blessed to be able to have my eyes opened by God to show me my weaknesses before i can make them strong.
About an hour before that, we got in an argument with this guy.  He told us that Joseph Smith was not true.  I have never felt that sort of burning in my chest before. I kind of raised my voice to this man, testifying of Joseph Smith.  My testimony then grew a ton.  I know in my heart that he was a prophet of god.  I know this church is possible by Jesus Christ through Joseph Smith.
The blur week. I don’t have a ton of time, so I’m going to tell you about some people we met.
We actually have a lesson set up with pocha this night.  We are going to just teach her the resurrection this night to help her understand the apostasy and Joseph Smith.  SO pray for her.
We met a guy named Juan Manual. He is 24 and is a spitting image of me. Or at least if i was a Latino.  Haha he’s a gangsta.  He accepted a book of Mormon and a return appointment.  He plays volleyball and loves to learn about religion.  HE hasn’t decided what one he likes yet because he hasn’t found the truth he said.  SoOOOOO look god put this guy in our hands!! how lucky? Oh and guess who we saw while i was writing this letter... JUan Manuel. He is writhing next me right now.  I swear it’s meant to be.  We have a meeting set up with him tomorrow. We also get to see the President tomorrow.
Pray for me to have inspiration and find those that are prepared.
I love serving the lord. I don’t want to stop.  I MISS MY FAMILY LIKE CRAZY THO!!!!
LOVE YOU GUYS!!
